《祝福》四个英译本中性别相关翻译策略变化研究

  女性主义翻译理论强调译者对文本的干预和重写,这与传统翻译观有很大的区别,但其初衷一是为了消除语篇中基于男性中心主义而产生的对女性的偏见语言,从而推动男女平等;二是试图消除对译文的歧视,让译文和原文享有平等地位,而不是从属关系。后者与将翻译学作为独立学科和将翻译语言作为独立的语言变体来研究的总体趋势一致。女性主义翻译理论逐渐发展为与性别相关的翻译理论。对社会性别、性别意识传递等的研究逐渐成为性别相关研究的重要组成部分。本文选择了以描写中国封建社会女性悲惨命运的短篇小说《祝福》及其四个译本来讨论与性别相关的翻译策略问题。本文采用的四个中译本分别是由两位男性译者威廉姆·莱尔(William A.Lyell)、王际真和两位女性译者蓝诗玲(Julia Lovell)、柳无垢的译本。以女性主义翻译策略为框架,对四个译本从性别的角度进行分析,探讨四个译本是否在“劫持(hijacking)”这一女性翻译策略的引导下,运用维奈和达贝尔内(Vinay&Darbelnet)所指出的若干翻译技巧,如转喻(metonymy),阐释(explicative),倒置(reversal of terms)等来...
