顺应论视角下《老残游记》英译的创造性叛逆研究

  作为一部具有代表性的传统晚清小说,《老残游记》的叙述模式与语言结构兼具了中国传统小说与中国现代白话文小说的特色。此外,该小说包含了丰富的中国特有文化因素,吸引了众多翻译家对其进行外译传播。国内学者对其英译本的研究主要着眼于对杨宪益与沙迪克译本在语言特征、文化因素、文化负载词以及译者主体性等方面进行对比分析。少有研究者关注《老残游记》英译的创造性叛逆现象,运用语言顺应理论对其英译的创造性叛逆现象的研究更是少之又少。本文从顺应论视角出发,主要研究《老残游记》杨宪益与戴乃迭夫妇英译本中的创造性叛逆现象,采用案例分析的研究方法,分析创造性叛逆在译本中的体现。同时探讨译者如何通过创造性叛逆手段实现译文在目标语的语言结构和交际语境方面的顺应。研究结果表明,创造性叛逆现象明显存在于杨宪益夫妇英译本中,具体体现在译者采用误译,漏译,以及个性化翻译等创造性叛逆手段对语言结构层面与文化语境层面的各种成分进行翻译,以期达到顺应这两个层面各因素的目的。创造性叛逆现象存在于这两个层面的事实表明译者旨在采用创造性叛逆实现在目的语的语言结构以及交际语境的顺应,从而为目标读者有效地降低阅读难度,符合目标读者的阅读习惯...
