伍尔夫在《远航》中矛盾的帝国主义情结研究

　　《远航》(1920)是弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫的第一部小说,当她1907年开始创作这部小说的时候,英国在海外的霸权地位从表面看还是很稳固的。但是,这部小说中所体现的关于父权制与帝国主义的批判思想的萌芽却应该引起评论界足够的重视。因为伍尔夫其后的作品,比如《达洛卫夫人》、《海浪》、《三个基尼金币》等,都体现着这种思想。 尽管有很多关于《远航》的评论,但是大多数评论都把其中的“远航”看作是主人公内心成熟历程的比喻。如果仅仅把该小说看作是关于心理成长的作品,其所独特的故事背景——位于神秘的南美的一个小村庄,则只是一个有着“异国情调”的故事背景而已。然而,故事的主人公,雷切尔,这个来自大英帝国中产阶级的白人女孩,在经历与特伦斯的爱情的同时,也受到了来自殖民地与大英帝国关系的影响。本论文认为,伍尔夫在《远航》中所表达的帝国主义意识是两方面的：一方面,她承认自己作为帝国的成员,有着天生的优越感；另一方面,她对这种大英帝国的制度也提出了反省。同时,她作为一名帝国内的女性,本身既是宗主国男权文化压迫下的牺牲品,却又在面对殖民地的妇女时成为了压迫者。因此,伍尔夫对于性属问题,帝国意识以及其相互间关系的探讨是非常...
