从社会认同角度解读《皮格马利翁》中伊莉莎的身份问题

乔治·萧伯纳（1856-1950）被公认为是继莎士比亚之后又一伟大的英国剧作家,作为一名现实主义剧作家,其作品往往传递深刻的社会意义,同时,他也强调文学的道德功能。作品《皮格马利翁》讲述了一个相貌清丽出身贫寒的街头卖花女伊莉莎,通过接受语言学家西斯金的六个月语言训练以及上流社会的礼仪学习,成功地转变谈吐高雅,仪态端庄的贵族小姐。而伊莉莎在经历身份转变过程中,对之前认同的自身身份迷惘困惑,并因此寻求身份的重新界定。前人对于该作品的讨论主要集中在该剧的女性主义批评,存在主义批评以及原型批评等,而伊莉莎在身份探求以及身份认同的问题上并没有得到太多关注。有鉴于此,本文试图运用身份认同相关理论来探究《皮格马利翁》中伊莉莎的身份问题以及伊莉莎转变之后的身份构建问题,进而挖掘萧伯纳剧作的社会道德意义。论文分为五个部分。第一部分介绍了作者乔治·萧伯纳和他的《皮格马利翁》、相关的社会认同理论、国内外对于作品作家的研究现状,研究的视角以及本文的结构。第二章从社会分类,社会比较和积极区分三个方面探究作为社会底层的卖花女的伊莉莎的身份问题。伊莉莎属于英国底层阶级的一员。本章介绍伊莉莎在早期中对所属群体和社会环...
