《藻海无边》的空间叙事研究

《藻海无边》,英国女性作家简·里斯的代表作,讲述了克里奥尔女性安托瓦内特悲惨的一生。小说颠覆了《简爱》中柏莎的疯女人这一形象,自出版以来便引起了学者们的热议,对其研究也涉及到殖民主义、女性主义和话语权分析等多个方面。然而,随着二十世纪空间叙事理论的发展,许多学者开始关注文本中的空间元素,强调空间在文本中的重要性。本文在前人研究的基础上,运用加布里尔·佐伦和亨利·列斐福尔的空间批评理论对《藻海无边》进行分析,旨在探讨小说中的空间对女主人公的命运的影响。论文主体分为四部分。第一章为论文的理论基础,简要介绍了近年来空间批评理论的发展与论文所运用的空间理论,分别为加布里尔·佐伦提出的地志空间及亨利·列斐伏尔提出的社会空间和心理空间。第二章为小说中的地志空间,主要围绕三个地点展开。第一个地点是女主人公安托瓦内特的成长地牙买加,第二个地点是安托瓦内特与罗切斯特的蜜月之地格瓦布朗,第三个地点是见证了女主人公从被监禁到毁灭的桑菲尔德庄园。地志空间的描写为小说提供了活动场所,同时也为主人公的成长提供了背景。第三章为小说中的社会空间,主要围绕两个方面展开。第一个方面是殖民空间,主要体现在殖民所带来的文化霸...
