论当代西方翻译理论的三个层次

二战后,西方翻译理论进入了迄今其发展史上的最高峰,新的翻译理论和翻译理论家不断出现,先后出现了奈达的交际翻译理论,卡特福德的语言学翻译观,霍姆斯的翻译学,巴斯奈特的文化翻译观,勒弗维尔的文化操控论,埃文.佐哈的多元系统论,斯坦纳的阐释学翻译视角,德里达的“撒播”“延异”意义观等。每种理论都从不同视角来探讨翻译,都只揭示了翻译活动的一个或几个方面,未能也不可能将翻译活动的所有方面都包括在其理论范围之内。 在西方译学界,不同理论流派之间经常会有论争,持某一理论的学者往往会批判其它理论的种种弊端。这方面的例子是不胜枚举的。每种翻译理论都不可能解释复杂的翻译活动的方方面面,理所当然,每种理论都有其缺陷。在对其它理论进行批判时,应该意识到：自己的理论不可能面面俱到,别人的理论也不可能就一无是处。既然当前没有哪一个翻译理论能够完全涵盖翻译活动的所有内容,那翻译研究的出路和方向在哪呢? 始于迪昂的现代整体论思想,旨在克服近代自然科学中的以局部分析和局部证实为特征的还原论方法的弊端。由于还原论,将科学看作是简单的、孤立分离的、还原的,因此获得的只能是关于某一学科局部化、简单化、分门别类的、破碎的知识。...
