A Comparative Study of Two Translation Versions of the Anale

20世纪90年代,苏珊·巴斯奈特和安德烈·勒费弗尔提出了翻译研究的“文化转向”,为翻译研究开拓了一片新领域。翻译的“文化价值观”便逐渐成为翻译研究关注的焦点之一。通过对文化的不同类型——物质文化、行为文化和意识文化的划分,阐明作为文化本质的意识文化信息在翻译中的重要地位与作用,尤其对于文化传播和文化交流的重要作用。 本文依据翻译理论研究中文化学派中的代表人物苏珊·巴斯奈特以及安德鲁·勒菲维尔的文化翻译观,通过对理雅各和辜鸿铭对于《论语》的两个译本中个案的意识文化信息的传译进行分析,着重探讨了如下两个问题:翻译主体的性格气质和人生态度取向等意识形态,诗学以及赞助人对意识文化信息的选择与传译策略所起的作用及影响;翻译中意识文化信息传译的特点及应该遵循的原则和方法等。 通过对大量语料的具体分析,作者得出的结论是:理雅各和辜鸿铭对于《论语》的两个译本,出现不尽相同的体现,主要是由于两位译者作为译者主体性所传达的意识文化信息存在着差异,以及意识形态、诗学和赞助人对翻译策略的影响。这不仅对提高典籍的译文质量,而且对进一步研究中国典籍的翻译具有一定的学术价值。
