文化操纵视域下的音译

不同民族之间存在着巨大的文化差异。不同文化背景的人们互相交流的时候,经常会出现在译入语文化中难以找到合适的对等词的现象,这时音译便成为解决这一问题较为行之有效且便捷的翻译手段。长期以来,音译一直处于一种被忽视的地位,没有得到足够的重视与研究。然而,在我国对外交流日益频繁的今天,音译越来越显示其独特的优势。出现不可译的情况时,音译法几乎可成为一种主要的翻译手段。 印欧语系与汉藏语系文字差异巨大。印欧语系属于表音文字,是以字母为代表的线形文字。汉字属于表意文字,在字形表达语义方面有着独特的优势。汉字即代表音节,又是语素甚至单词,每个汉字都有意义,因此,在外来词汇音译成汉语时,必然会产生某种联想。在汉语中,一个拼音对应多个汉字,给译者在选择汉字方面提供了很大的空间。译者在音译不同类别的外来词时,汉字的选择会有很大的差异。 音译在一定程度上受制于译入语文化和语言习惯。尽管如此,音译是一种重要的翻译方法,在丰富和发展汉语词汇库,促进文化交流方面都起到了重要作用。音译不是简单的语符转换活动。任何翻译活动都是在一定的社会文化背景下进行的实践活动,不能脱离该社会文化的影响,音译也如此,也会受到社会文化...
