复仇者的肖像——哈姆莱特犹豫的跨文化研究

《哈姆雷特》所呈现的复杂人性和悲剧之美吸引了一代代读者大众和人文学者的关注,其中哈姆雷特作为复仇者所带有的深沉的犹豫和忧郁更是数百年来争论不休的永恒话题。人们从时代,阶级背景,心理分析等诸多层面对此进行深入的解读和探讨,已经取得了丰富的学术成就。 然而,绝大多数分析都是在基于西方文化自身的传统语境中进行。 本文试图在前人研究基础上,从跨文化的角度出发,引入莎士比亚同时代的中国古典文学名著《西游记》中《乌鸡国》这一则有着相似冤魂显灵和王子复仇母题的故事, 在此故事中,中国王子的复仇带有轻率和盲从性,而并不具有哈姆雷特的犹豫和忧郁色彩。本文在跨文化比较的基础上,着重从东方直觉顿悟型思维和西方分析型思维对比,中国巫术信仰和西方宗教信仰对比,中国环型时间观和西方线形时间观对比等三方面入手,以《乌鸡国》这一异质文化的他者为参照物,来揭示哈姆雷特的犹豫和忧郁的文化成因——即文艺复兴这一西方世界开始摆脱神学的阴影并与东方分道扬镳而走向理性和科学的特定时代塑造了莎翁笔下复仇王子异于东方的气质——他作为一个具有不同于东方的人文主义者,对冤魂的可靠性从西方宗教观和时间观上加以质疑和否定而摒弃巫术上的盲从,...
