从勒菲弗尔的“改写理论”看《诗经·国风》英译

《诗经》又称《诗三百》,收录了西周至春秋的305首诗,由孔子编纂,汉朝时始称《诗经》,被奉为儒家“五经”之一。《诗经》作为中国第一部诗歌总集,可谓我国古代文学的瑰宝,也是中国文化的源泉。《诗经》全书根据诗篇的内容与功用,分风、雅、颂三大部分,其中“国风”共收录160篇诗,采自十五国民间,是诗经的开篇也可谓其最重要的部分,其中许多诗篇均是妇孺皆知,也历来受到众多国内外学者与翻译家的重视。翻译研究自20世纪70年代开始了其文化转向的潮流,在这一时期涌现了目的论、多元系统论等多种文化学派的理论。这些理论突破了之前翻译传统研究仅仅着眼于语言文字与忠实性的局限,将翻译活动纳入文化、社会、历史的宏观语境下进行探讨,从而大大开拓了翻译研究的视野,为翻译研究提供了一种全新的角度。而安德烈·勒菲弗尔的译学理论,尤其是改写理论在其中占据重要的地位。勒菲弗尔提出所有的翻译都是改写,而改写受到译者所处的社会意识形态、赞助人、诗学观念在各方面的操控,这一理论充分考虑到翻译的时代性特点,强调了文化和社会因素在翻译过程中的重要作用,从而进一步推动了翻译研究的文化转向。本文选取中外译者对《诗经·国风》的多个英译版本进...
